Christian Durso is a Los Angeles native, playwright, screenwriter, and classically trained actor.  He created, executive produced, and wrote for THE STRANDED series on Netflix. You can watch the trailer here.

His plays have been produced and workshopped at The Roundabout Theatre Company, The Flea Theatre, The Old Globe, The NOLA Project, FaultLine Theater, Brimmer Street Theatre, Ensemble Studio Theatre, Prague Shakespeare Company (Czech Republic) and with the IAMA Theatre Company in both Los Angeles and New York.

He is currently writing a commission for the San Francisco Playhouse.

His play SHINER was named to The Tracking Board's 2012 Young And Hungry List and the Hollywood Reporter called it “a richly detailed Valentine to Nirvana and the grunge era.” LA Weekly said: GO. In New Orleans, it named one of the ten best plays of 2014.

His play REDLINE was listed by TimeOut LA as one of the 5 Must-See Productions in Los Angeles in November 2017.

With a masters degree in Shakespeare Performance, the bard is a major influence on his writing for both the stage and screen.  He adapted the novel LIKE NO OTHER, a modern adaptation of Romeo And Juliet set in Crown Heights, for Overbrook Entertainment.  He was the sole writer for the entire first season (8 Episodes) of an Untitled Series for HBO Asia, which was a modern take on King Lear set in Singapore.  He has also written the feature adaptation of the YA novel THE LAST SUMMER OF THE DEATH WARRIORS for REEL FX.

Also an actor, Christian haunts the stage more than the screen.  He has worked regionally at The Old Globe, Shakespeare Santa Cruz, Great Lakes Theater (OH), Idaho Shakespeare Festival, and Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival.  He was nominated for BroadwayWorld.com's best actor for his role as Romeo in Great Lake Theater's production of Romeo And Juliet.  He originated the role of Keshav in the World Premiere of Madhuri Shekar’s A NICE INDIAN BOY at East West Players.  He also played Justin on ABC's One Life To Live.

Christian was the resident poet at the 2013 Coachella Valley Music Festival where he wrote hundreds of poems for festival goers on a 1936 Remington Manuel Typewriter.

He is a faculty member at the Art Of Acting Studio where he teaches acting and writing. He also taught Shakespeare Performance at East West Players Acting Conservatory.

Christian is the Associate Artistic Director of the Los Angeles based IAMA Theatre Company.  He is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of The Arts and the USD/Old Globe MFA Professional Actor Training Program.  A proud member of AEA, SAG-AFTRA, and the WGA.

Christian teaches over twenty courses in professional development skills from Emotional Intelligence In The Workplace to Business Writing for the Bay Area’s renowned LearnIt.
